Elgin Wayside Center 2nd Annual Walk-A-Mile In My Shoes

Has "cabin fever" set in and you're getting the winter time blues? How about having some FUN this winter while contributing to a great cause! Please consider joining your friends at The Wayside Center in Elgin for a morning of fellowship, some exercise and helping those less fortunate.

The walk raises funds and awareness for the homeless. It is planned for one of the worst winter months of the year. We want people to identify with what the homeless experience on a daily basis.

The walk is 1.43 miles, mostly south on McLean taking about 30 minutes. It will begin next to Larkin High School at the Evangelical Covenant Church 1565 Larkin Avenue, and end at the Elgin Wayside Center where you will enjoy refreshments, music and a chance to explore our facilities. Walkers will be shuttled back to their vehicles.

Please consider joining us for this important event. Walkers are encouraged to get sponsors and the funds will benefit the work among the homeless in Elgin.
