Ministry Philosophy

Hope Outreach strives to instill a Christian worldview of work ethics in a structured work environment setting for our residents which will allow them to provide for themselves and their families upon graduation from the program.

Hope Outreach builds upon the inward transformation of our resident men’s program by stressing:

  • Teamwork – working together as team.
  • Accountability – providing a measure of work progress.
  • Integrity – instilling a Christian sense of purpose in work.
  • Motivation – fostering a habit of job longevity

Overview

Hope Outreach is an integral part of Wayside’s daily ministry operations providing support for many of the ministries under the umbrella of Wayside Cross Ministries.

Hope Outreach Ministry manages and staffs:

  • The Johannaber Center warehouse operations which processes donations of clothing, furniture, electronics, small appliances, house wares, books, and toys
  • The Wayside fleet of vehicles which provide transportation for our residents, staff, volunteers and facilitates pick ups of large donations in the Fox Valley area
  • The ministry's physical plant maintenance and housekeeping program
  • The Hope Chest resale shop and E-Bay online sales
  • Wayside's community outreach initiatives

Located at 34 N. Lincoln Avenue in Aurora (corner of Lincoln and New York Street) is our Hope Chest resale store. Each purchase improves people’s lives by supporting the work of Wayside Cross Ministries while providing an outlet to prolong the usefulness of quality used items and conserving the earth’s resources.
