HOPE OUTREACH MINISTRY: RESTORATION THROUGH THE SERVING OF OTHERS.

Discovering meaning and purpose by serving others

Everyone has a job to do. We believe God gives each of us an assignment in life. As part of a recovery program for addiction and abuse, work can be a critical part of a person’s transformational journey.

That’s why every program resident has a job here.

Hope Outreach provides an exceptional opportunity to develop individuals in our men’s shelter and recovery program, while pairing them with strong, Christ-centered volunteers, all contributing to the greater community.

Our program teaches new skills and instills a Christian worldview of work ethics within a structured work environment. Wayside Cross residents gain the confidence to provide for themselves and their families upon graduation from the program. Proceeds raised through their efforts help support our ministry.

Hope Outreach builds upon the inward transformation of our resident men’s program by stressing:

  • Teamwork – working together as a team
  • Accountability – providing a measure of work progress
  • Integrity – instilling a Christian sense of purpose in work
  • Motivation – fostering a habit of job longevity

Hope Outreach participants and volunteer partners work together and help staff.

  • Our warehouse operations which processes donations of clothing, furniture, electronics, small appliances, housewares, books, toys, and food
  • The Wayside fleet of vehicles provides transportation for our residents and staff, and facilitates pick ups of large donations in the Fox Valley area
  • The ministry’s physical plant maintenance, carpentry, and housekeeping program
  • Hope Chest and Sweet Charity resale stores
  • Wayside’s community outreach initiatives
  • H.O.W. Hope on Wheels — another work/training program that provides low-cost hand-wash and auto detailing
  • Micron Power – a light manufacturing training lab

It takes a lot to operate our ministries. Residents in the Hope Outreach Program, together with partner volunteers like you, make it all possible!
