Shift Supervison: Lifespring Ministry | Part Time Position 

General Responsibility Description:

Lifespring Ministry, a division of Wayside Cross Ministries, seeks a part-time (15-20 hours per week) Shift Supervison to work closely with the case managers in helping to implement residents’ goals and directives and following those directives with each resident. The shift supervisor reports to the director. The Lifespring Center is a Bible-based, Christ-centered ministry that offers safe shelter, care, and support for single women and women with children. Schedule is flexible.

You must possess strong hands, and a big heart for serving others!

This person will be responsible include:

• Overseeing the shift to ensure that all scheduled activities occur on time and that classroom teachers have all the supplies needed for class
• Coordinating with volunteers and pastors regarding their scheduled meeting times
• Dispensing medicines as needed to residents
• Maintaining initial intake forms and referrals in accordance with admission guidelines and procedures, supervise daily client work assignments, and enforce facility living guidelines.
• Initiating on-the-spot assistance, counsel, or personal witness, availing oneself of every opportunity to guide residents in the knowledge of Christ and in practical living skills.
• Carrying out safety, sanitation, and maintenance procedures. Assisting in team responsibilities for Lifespring’s building, furniture, and supplies.
• Assisting the director and case managers in various assigned duties (filing, computer work, stocking supplies, etc.)

Ministry Assistant: Elgin Wayside Center | Part Time Position 

General Responsibility Description:

Elgin Wayside Center (EWC), a division of Wayside Cross Ministries, seeks a part-time (20 hours per week) Program Assistant to assist with daily tasks and operation of our Day Center in Elgin to serve clients. Elgin Wayside Center is a Bible-based, Christ-centered ministry that offers food, clothing, showers, laundry facilities, daily Bible studies, and other resources to those experiencing homelessness.

You must possess strong hands, and a big heart for serving others!

This person will be responsible for helping to maintain order among guests, clients and volunteers: including registration, monitoring client services (ie; showers, laundry, meals etc.), providing resources related to services, insuring clients are prepared for Bible studies, assisting with “counter service,”  coordinating client “chores,” opening and closing facility as needed, and performing other client-related tasks as directed by the Program Coordinator or Director. Work with clients to develop goal-oriented strategies to move from a state of homelessness to self-sufficiency and monitor progress toward achieving those goals. Help manage receipt and recording of non-monetary donations received at the Center

Wayside Cross Ministries, a Bible-based, Christ-centered, non-profit organization for the broken and hurting, is looking for a team members to work at our Hope Chest Resale Store.

You must possess strong hands, and a big heart for serving others!

This person will be responsible for receiving, sorting and processing donations, running a cash register, cleaning and organizing, working and communicating with the public. You’ll have the added satisfaction of knowing your efforts are supporting men, women and children in the recovery programs at Wayside Cross Ministries.

Lifespring Ministry, a division of Wayside Cross, is a Christian ministry that offers long-term transitional housing for women and their children in crisis. Lifespring is looking for a first-shift supervisor to work 25 hours a week from approximately 7:30 am to 12:30 pm, starting immediately.

You must possess the ability to direct, assist and support women & children in recovery!

This person will be responsible for ensuring that morning activities (devotionals, classes, pastor/mentor meetings) run as scheduled, Screening prospective residents, provide spiritual and emotional support to residents and help support daily operations of the women & children’s recovery center.

Assistant Store Manager Hope Chest Resale Store-Elgin | Part Time Position  – Filled

Wayside Cross Ministries, a Bible-based, Christ-centered, non-profit organization for the broken and hurting, is looking for a Assistant Store Manager to lead and develop at our resale stores’ Hope Chest Elgin location.

You must possess an eye for retail and a passion ministering to other!

This person will be responsible for managing our resale store located inside the Elgin Wayside Center. You will have a strong fashion and merchandising sense, interact with customers, donors and volunteers, receive, sort and processing of donations, running a cash register, cleaning and organizing, working and communicating with the public. You will also interact with and lead people who utilize the center’s meals, assistance & recovery programs from time to time.
