The Elgin Wayside Center is more than a homeless day center. It’s a place where struggling and broken men, women and children, and the church, can connect. Here, guests come to our center for food, clothing, and a place to rest, but receive much more!

Each person we serve is provided with guidance, Bible studies, and programs that can lead them to a godly and growing life filled with hope. Check out our new location at: 453 Fremont St, Elgin, IL 60120

Since 1993, the Elgin Wayside Center has provided shelter for the homeless and witnessed lives transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  With the help of faithful volunteers, hundreds of individuals and needy families are assisted each year with practical, life-changing services and basic necessities, so the broken can find hope.

Like a temporary home, the center offers what most people take for granted – free meals, safe daytime center, laundry services, showers, and individual lockers to keep personal items secure. Computers to connect with loved ones, apply for work, or collaborative services.

In addition, multiple Bible studies, classes, and the support of volunteers provide healthy relationships and fresh perspective. More over, the center also collaborates with many area organizations, churches, and ministries so people in need can find additional resources and the support they need. They can also choose to access Wayside’s transitional housing and recovery programs.
