Homeless mothers find long-term recovery at Lifespring Center, a Christian shelter for women and children.

A life on the street can look pretty hard, especially to a struggling young mother, but now it looked like she had no other options…

Amaraini was broken.  A young mother with three children, all under the age of 3 years old, she was shy, insecure and had no self-worth. With no job she and her children had become wholly dependent on her parents. But the situation wasn’t an ideal one, and her mom and dad’s patience was beginning to wear thin.

She had already burned a lot of bridges.

Her life was in chaos.

But it was about to hit rock bottom…

. . . That was the day Amaraini’s parents told her she needed to move out.

Those words were pretty difficult to hear. Desperate, Amaraini began a frantic online search for a new place for her and her children to live . . .

But what she was really seeking were answers.  So she decided to try something she hadn’t done in a long time.  Pray.

That’s when she found Lifespring.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all
without reproach, and it will be given to him.”  ~ James 1:5

With no place to go, no money, and no one to care for her children, Amaraini entered the program and Lifespring became their new home.

“I came to this place because I needed a loving home for my kids,
and a fresh start, but I found so much more.”

She also found healing and grace.

At Lifespring, Amaraini was given the tools and the guidance she needed to overcome her insecurities through Bible-based, Christ-centered teachings, regular meetings with her mentor, her church family, and classes in life skills, including cooking, finance, and how to be a better parent.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is
good and acceptable and perfect.”  ~ Romans 12:2

Our Lifespring Ministry also provided Amaraini’s entire family with the opportunity to form a solid foundation, to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, rebuild and restore genuine and trusting relationships and find hope to continue on her new path.

It’s been just a little over a year now, and Amaraini is gainfully employed. 

In fact, she has been promoted within a six-month period of time.  She has also been welcomed back into her parents’ home, and their relationship and communication are greatly improved.

During her time at Lifespring, Amaraini eventually found a smile that would light up a room.  She has become a wonderful mother to her three children,  and she even discovered a new-found confidence that continues to prove out in every area of her life.

Today, she and her family are thriving . . .
